Before you decide
The three things everyone asks first
“Will it actually hold?”
Every plan states its fall height, the surfacing needed underneath, the guardrail height and the exact gap between balusters — calculated for that design, not copied. Guidance informed by the CPSC handbook and EN 1176.
“What will the timber cost me?”
Every plan lists every piece and length, plus bolts, hangers and anchors with counts. Take the list to your local merchant and you have a real price before you spend a cent.
“Do I need special tools?”
A drill, a saw, a spirit level, a spanner and a tape measure. No mitres, no joinery, nothing that needs a router. If you can drill a straight hole, you can build the small range.
